Rosario Murphy Lanford

Mrs. Rosario Murphy Lanford, age 61 of Enoree, passed away in the early morning hours on January 28, 2026. 

Rosario Murphy Lanford, a beautiful and deeply loving soul, was born on February 20, 1964 to the late Precious and Son Murphy, in Limerick, Ireland, and passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and unwavering love that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Rosario was an amazing wife, a devoted mama, and a cherished Nana. She was not only her children’s mother, but their best friend—always present, always listening, always loving. To know Rosario was to experience true friendship; she was one of the best friends anyone could have and one of the most genuinely kind and loving people this world has known.

She had a deep love for life and found her greatest joy in spending time with her family—they were everything to her. Edisto held a special place in her heart and was her happy place, where she felt most at peace. Rosario was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

Rosario leaves behind her loving husband Roger Lanford, her son Patrick Chapek, daughters Erica Chapek and Kera Chapek and her grandchildren, Qua, Bry, Aliyah, Konner, Julz, Ty, Desmond, Heaven and Addy and a great granddaughter Eliza. Along with sisters Marie and the late Wolfgang Osswald, who were like parents to her, Doley Anderson (Leon), brothers Martin Murphy (Breda) and Kieran Murphy (Maggie). She leaves behind several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Mike Lloyd; her brother, Tony Murphy.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 12:00 noon at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (Historic Church).
